Yeah man, the nostalgia is it.

I think FLCL has a slightly different meaning for just about everybody in its own way. But for me, FLCL was about growing up, being a kid, and finding out about the world and all the craziness in it. It was something I could watch when I was just a kid and enjoy, and something I can look back on as an adult and remember those days.

For me, FLCL reminds me of hot Houston summers, pickup baseball games in the abandoned construction lot full of nails down the block, lemonade stands, and all that stupid shit you do when you're a kid with nothing better to do.

I don't know if it's possible to take that legacy and retell it with any significance to the people who grew up with the original show.

THAT BEING SAID, it could really be a wonderful show on its own, maybe something for the new generation to grow up with and look back on with that air of nostalgia.

But for me, no way it can come close to the feeling of the original. Am I gonna watch it anyway? Yeah.
