PLEASE read this if you are going to give beginners advice on what keyboards to buy

But... it's all inter-related.

But I did a mix of reading reddit comments on this subreddit, asking questions, reading articles, watching videos, and I still got it wrong. When I finally realized what I needed to know and what I should have asked, it dawned on my why I didn't need to know. I tried to figure it out without ever finding a "customizing keyboard for beginners" type guide. So I thought I would share that it would've been nice to have one.

If everyone wants to take that personally, that's not my fault. It's incredibly common for hobbyist communities to have people who are closed-minded about 'how to be helpful' and are not open to feedback. So I'm not really surprised by the reaction I'm getting. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying to share an experience that I think will be helpful to new people. But it does help me see that this subreddit was part of the problem -- it's just not beginner-friendly.
