I was with you at the beginning because I felt like the slavery aspect of the novel was a bit too much, they could have made Rashta a commoner and it would have had the same effect, but you thinking you can come on Reddit and say that the ONLY category of people that come to mind when you think of slavery are the enslaved black Americans in United States history. Native Americans were also forced into slavery, were raped, murdered, beaten, decimated, destroyed. The Mayans and Aztecs had slaves, the pharaohs in Egypt had slaves, the Mesopotamians had slaves, European countries like Portugal, Belgium, France, Spain, all participated in the slave trade, but in their own territories. There are scars left all over the world.
