Racist experience with cowboy hat wearing person at via rail train station

People here will say it isn’t racism, but as someone who’s been to 20+ countries, the subtle undertone of racial/racist views in Canada is a real thing. It’s hard for white people to understand because it’s not in their experience. I’ve had white partners and they eventually noticed. I’ve also seen how people reacted to them vs when I was with a non-white partner and there is a difference.

But people here will tell you you’re overreacting or it isn’t real. You know what you experienced, trust your gut. I’m sorry you had to experience that. I’ve actually personally decided to move out of Ontario (despite being born and raised here) because my experience is just way better even in Quebec (contrary to what people say), BC, the maritimes, Europe, etc. I don’t really like being around racist people lol.
