Is it rational/in interest of self preservation to help a person you ran over?

I want to add one more thing:

I was watching a movie where a drunk driver hit a car and one of the victims died because they didnt get medical help in time because the drunk driver fled the scene.

In a DUI, if a person dies at the scene, there is usually SOME prison time involved. If its your first DUI ever, I would say you're looking at 2-5 years. If you have multiple DUIs youre looking at 15-20 years. ... if someone DIES.

So if you cause a car accident, and nobody dies, you could probably very easily get no prison time. So if you help someone get to a hospital and save their life, you probably arent going to prison. If you leave someone to die on the street, you will get the max.
