Recs? Looking for a more gothic atmosphere

Devil’s line

You can read it on INKR comics. This has an anime, the genre is romance thriller with a half-vampire in modern times. Not a Yandere. He’s pretty cool. it’s more like friends to lovers and forbidden love with a human and a half-vampire. There’s vampire lore in the world building. The first few chapters got me hook.

There’s a new movie called Don’t Worry Darling.

You can watch it on Hulu Or showtimes. It’s a psychological horror romance of a 50’s couple living in a perfect neighborhood. It’s not really jump scare. It’s more like… wow… he does creepy things for his darling and he’s keeping it a secret.

Demons of the mind.

It’s a 1970’s horror movie. It’s got satanic possession and incest. But it’s not really satanic possession, it’s more like psychological horror but the setting is in old Europe. There’s no modern science to explain the minds of these characters.

Death in Venice.

This movie has a romance between an older man and a teen boy. The older man is the Yandere. It’s mostly famous for the the teen actor Bjorn Andresen. He inspired a lot of Japanese bishonen characters. Check out the Qoves YouTube video on Bjorn. There’s also news explaining Bjorn’s terrible time. This movie is so creepy to me even though it’s not gory. I was so sad for Bjorn. I recommend it because the movie is for mature audience: also to appreciate Japanese’s animation history.

The movie also reminds me of Dorian Gray’s story. Bjorn’s pretty boy appearance lead to a lot of unwanted harassment.

So my recommendation went from teens to mature to wtf mature.
