So for the first time since this thread started I planned on being here for the start of this thread, ready for the banter and karma that came with it. I was ready. And I had the question I wanted to ask all written out and ready to go. Today was the day. My day.
Time til thread start: 2 hours.
It's snowing. We have barely any milk in the house, not good enough for a house with 8 people, and the milkman wasn't delivering today. So my darling mother decides it's time to go attempt to drive to the shop. Bear in mind we live in the countryside and it's just winding twisting roads. She asks me to come with her to help carry the shopping, 'no problem' I thought.
Time til thread starts: 1 hour 45 minutes.
We finally leave. She manages to get the car down the road and to the shop easily enough, bit of slipping and sliding but nothing that 30 years of driving experience can't handle. Driven up and down this road plenty of times in the snow. I was confident I'd make it back in time.

The anticipation must be killing you. Yes, we ended up getting stuck in the snow on the way back. Well I thought I had planned sufficiently for this happening and got my spade and grit out of the boot and was confident enough in being able to clear the snow, grit the road, and we'd be on our merry way and I'd be in time for Free Talk Friday!

Not gonna happen mate. Shovel and grit didn't work, and we just made it worse with every attempt so we decided I'd make the walk to the only farm in the area and ask if they could help us by pulling us up the hill using one of their mighty tractors. Well turns out the farmers are slight cunts and just weren't interested in helping since we weren't in their way so we weren't their problem. Twats.

Well since the car was in the middle of the road we had to try and move it out the way. It's a country road so there's lots of entryways into fields, she managed to carefully reverse into one of them and we left the car there. Grabbed what shopping we could carry and started the walk home.

Well I guess it's written in stone somewhere that I'm just not meant to be in time for this thread. 300 comments later and the banter is all bantered out. Maybe next time..
