I just went and drove all around West Palm Beach yesterday proper because I have a job offer in Downtown and wanted to live semi close to it, it really is an unpleasant city and the wealth inequalities are drastic, I’m originally from Broward County which is it’s own planet but haven’t lived in South Florida for 7+ years, whole entire blocks of what look like gutted and abandoned buildings, people on drugs wandering in the middle of the street, a few square blocks of downtown are nice, but anything immediately outside of downtown is not anyplace anyone from the Hamptons would want to live, there really is no charm here, I’m contemplating even taking the job just because of how shocked I am of how ugly and not that exciting this place seems to be.
