It’s crazy to me that there is suddenly a lot of gatekeeping in this sub. We are used to in the generation ones even though most of us don’t like gatekeeping, but this sub is just 90s appreciation to my knowledge and is usually very chill.

People born in the 00 year actually get the best of two worlds. You are definitely a 90s kid as you went up to age 9 before the decade even ended. There is a huge difference between you and someone born in 1998.

Were you also an early 00s kid in the sense of being a pre-teen in the beginning? Yes, but it doesn’t take away all the years you spent in the 90s people can be more than one thing.

Being born in 1984, I do go by 80s baby/90s kid in a nutshell, but my friends literally born in 1980 and sometimes even 1981 like relating to both decades from a kid level.
