I like this post, because I relate to it. On one hand, I see a lot of posts on subs like wholesomememes about how men shouldn't be afraid of expressing emotion. That's 100% true, expressing emotion is not an activity restricted to the Feminine. And yet, often, these posts go in the vein of "It's okay to not be manly sometimes". Not always explicitly, but sometimes, and this seems to, ironically, prop up the stereotypes about masculinity and emotional expression. That men must be okay with being less masculine in order to show emotion, rather than the fact that masculinity isn't at odds with expressiveness. Just seems counterproductive, even if I agree with the message from a bird's eye perspective.
