yes, you’re totally right— vernon is the one rapping in the first verse! all four members of the hip hop unit has very distinct tones when rapping, so if you know what to listen for you can somewhat easily tell them apart.

• vernon has a very unique way of rapping, mostly playing with the beat and rhythm and alternating between melodic rapping and spitting lyrics like nobody’s business. uses a lot of English and just completely does his own thing.

• wonwoo has the lowest tone in seventeen as a whole and his rapping can be very intense or almost calming depending on the song. usually packs a lot power and bite behind his rapping but keeps his delivery pretty monotone, but in the best way possible.

• mingyu has a softer and more melodic rapping style usually, and sometimes delivers his lines like he’s singing. always delivers a lot of hype and sensual energy in his raps, in a tone that is uniquely gyu.

• scoups is the resident hype-boy in seventeen and always delivers in regards to energy, flow and pure grit. his rapping is like imagining a bad boy performing with a wide smile on his face. he’s my ult bias so I’m trying to keep this objective, but he just loves performing and you can tell by the way he raps.
