Shelf life of disinfectant solutions

It depends on the type of disinfectant. I'm a microbiologist and I use bleach and ethanol in my lab to sterilize things.

Concentrated bleach is stable for a while, but a working solution of 10% bleach needs to be made fresh every day to be effective. I wouldn't work with a concentration higher than that because it's wasteful and hazardous.

70% ethanol or isopropyl is stable for quite a while longer. Also, fun fact: diluted alcohol is actually a better disinfectant than pure/200 proof because a partially aqueous solution is better at penetrating microbial biomass.

Sorry I don't have a source, these are just things I learned in my biosafety training. But you should try looking up "<chemical name> shelf stabile."
