The hypocrisy at the heart of Trump's rancher pardon

It is all typical.

If they were black, they wouldn’t have made it two seconds.

Different sets of rules. One is allowed leeway, and the other is expected to be docile or else.

I’m tired of people telling african americans “Just follow the rules! Comply! Say ‘yes sir, no sir. ‘ If you do those things, you will be fine”. When we have seen cases with AA individuals following directions calmly and still getting shot to death. Many people still say things like, “Well, they had it coming.” Or “Well, that’s a product of poor parenting by not following directions”.

But no...implicit bias isn’t the problem, is it? The right wing says it isn’t and that the problem is out of wedlock births and “black culture”. If only we were more “respectable” these things wouldn’t happen, they say. This is proof that is BS. It’s all bias. I understand bias can be hard to overcome for many, and of course people feel more comfortable around “their own”, but bias needs to be addressed.

It’s not “politically correct” to say that, but we all know it’s true.

For me this isn’t about the Bundys, this is about fairness. You can’t pick and choose. Republicans complain that Obama pandered to minorities and was not for “all Americans”. But what does Trump do? Does Trump try to do what is in the best interest of “all Americans”? Of course the GOP overwhelmingly supports this president. Look at the demographics.
