Should I be an EMT or a CNA if i’m going into nursing?

I was an emt before I became a nurse. I believe it helped me tremendously. Everyone has their own path but being an emt, you’ll learn a lot and see a lot. I mean just your basic stuff like taking blood pressures, setting up ints, how to perform a 12 lead etc… you learn how to talk to patients and perform adequate patient care as a healthcare provider. But my first call as an emt was a 9 day old baby in cardiac arrest with a fracture to her posterior fontanelle. that was years ago but having to do chest compressions on a newborn is something you don’t forget! Its situations like that you’ll be exposed to in ems that will make nursing a little smoother. But that’s just my two cents
