I wouldn't say that.

Blue Archive is intentionally a game about emotions it is made for that if care about what it is about (Story), I think we're supposed to grow emotions to specific students be it good or bad (given, some senseis do grow a bit more emotions than devs expected, including the artists who work for them).

I personally think once they intended and succeed to make us have those emotions towards the students, it's now their job at controlling how we care about that student and what happens to it, the whole community saw that with the 4th PV and I'm 200% sure they knew how each Hina/Saori/Miyu/.. fan would feel by looking at the state of their now beloved student.

I think the same thing is happening here, be it official or not, we have a level of care for those students and that will affect our mood.
