Someone explain this shit to me

I do think that self-diagnosing autism is different than self diagnosing rare diseases like EDS. Many adult women struggle to get an official autism diagnosis from a doctor because it has rarely been studied in adult women, so the symptoms can present themselves differently. Not to mention that women tend to be much better at masking than men. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying “I most likely have autism”, but you should be trying to get a diagnosis and also acknowledging that you’re not a medical professional.

When it gets out of control is people like that one chick on here (I forgot her name, I’m new), who has self-diagnosed when she clearly does not have autism and just has BPD. I seriously doubt that her doctors would agree that she has autism unless they just gave her the diagnosis to appease her. And she’s made it her entire personality because it makes her seem “unique” or whatever. That shit pisses me off.
