Totally agree. I think the question and answer were both worded quite well. My partner and I went our separate ways a few months ago because my depression and anxiety were just really terrible, and I couldn't put 100% into the relationship. Felt awful about it, but it WAS a burden on him.

It can be quite isolating for the partner as well. This can be said for any illness, and no one should feel obligated to become a full-time caregiver or, in my case, 24/7 counselor. It's tough no matter what because you care for each other deeply, but it can be mentally taxing in the long term. I can empathize here.

The article was in no way calling people with Crohn's or chronic illnesses a burden on society or anything IMO.
