just to add: "high serotonin" isn't really a thing, taken out of context, especially since there various regions in the brain in which serotonin acts, and even out of the brain i.e. in other parts of the nervous system or even the gut. If we go by similar broscience then serotonin is the happy chemical and by "high serotonin" people with ASD are more likely to be happy? Definitely untrue since studies have shown greater risk of depression in people with ASD. Not saying you're wrong, just saying don't dispense medical advice if you're not a doctor and even doctors don't get this brain-chemical-high-low crap right, because the human brain is truly an enigma.

Aside, even neurotypicals don't have a good tolerance profile for SSRIs. The only way to know is, as you say, to try it (under your doctor's guidance).
