The struggle is real

Ok well taking MiA for example, the scene where they go to Nanachi's house to heal Riko after she got hit with the strains of the fourth layer, Nanachi taoes her clothes off because they are full of blood, and Nanachi doesn't want Riko to get a rash.

In MiA, the author wants to show the realism of the Abyss, it makes it real to see every single detail. The reason why you see this in MiA and not say Harry Potter, is because the author wants to both shock us, showing us how real this situation is, and to make us uncomfortable, where in HP, the author doesn't want you to be uncomfortable.

See, we don't like seeing these images, but that's the point, we're not suppose to like them. Seeing these doesn't make me a pedophile. I don't like seeing those, but it serves the point the author is trying to make. Could it be done another way? Yes. Would it be as shocking? No.

So in the story, there is context. It is important. The children are not sexualised, they are put in the realistic setting of the Abyss.

Now you might say "What about the back covers then?"

To that I say, I cover those up to not see them. I don't like them, so I make sure to not be able to see them. I don't enjoy seeig these, but at the end of the day, I love the story, the world-building, the characters, the themes of never giving up and staying positive in the face of danger and death.

Now knowing all this, let me ask you this. Does that make me a pedophile because I read the Manga?
