Sumeru seems Weird

I already knew this was coming tbh. Sometimes I wonder why Hoyoverse just decided to lump Hinduism and Islamic culture into one place especially since they don't like each other very much in real life. Won't be surprised if Genshin gets banned in India once Sumeru comes out. But this has been done and dusted many times. There is no singular region or time period Sumeru is inspired from. It’s not accuracy to a specific culture was their goal, they’re drawing on multiple real life sources to create this fantasy location and culture. Same for all the regions, although some may be more directly translatable to real life than others. I saw this thread on CN forums explaining where Sumeru is inspired from, its just a cultural hodgepodge. Sometimes its best if you if you just turn off the logical part of your brain and enjoy the game
