Immigration Megathread - Part V

Questions on Immigration for Thoughtful Progressives

1.0 Yes

1.1 No

1.2 No

2.0 Food mainly, but also exchange of different cultural perspectives.

2.1 Nothing that I can think of. I've never lived anywhere that was "homogenous" and I don't think I'd like it.

2.2 Equally easy.

2.3 Ideally nothing, but racism is a problem often.

2.4 Only one type of food. Alienation of outsiders & misunderstandings of outside world seem likely as well.

2.5 Equally easy.

2.6 Yes usually.

2.7 There are very few peoples that actually live in a truly homogenous envoronment, so I think so. Japan comes to mind.

2.8 This question doesn't make any sense.

3.0 Not knowledgeable enough about Scandinavia to comment.

3.1 That fact is true, but the answer to the question is it depends on a lot of factors. This seems like a bit of a loaded question.

4.0 Conducive mostly

4.1 I don't think anything has really changed in this regard.

4.2 Both of course.

4.3 Conducive

4.4 Not really.

4.5 Depends on who you talk to. Someone who comes from an immigrant background would most probably say "I told you so!" and be relatively pleased with the outcome, whereas an anti-immigrant type would probably be upset by pretty much anything to do with immigrants in general.

5.0 Probably since there are parties for everything but I don't think there are many.

5.1 Yes but I don't know their specific reasoning.

6.0 Damn I'm having to google all these latin words. I don't really understand the question, but I think if someone is born in a country they should be citizen, if that's what this is asking. I don't understand what Apartheid has to do with anything.
