Tell me about the team.

We are kinda/sorta influx this summer. Our team is built around a core of Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry who were drafted together, won the Stanley Cup together their first full season with the club, and have gone on to lead (captain/alternate) the team. Ryan Kesler is our shutdown beast, responsible for keeping the opponents stars off the score sheet, he is stellar in the face off, and produces quite a bit of offense (I think he's the all around best player on the team simply because he does everything and does it with heart.)The Ducks have quite a few heavy hitters, and have always been contenders, but for a culmination of reasons, have been falling short in the playoffs. Head coach Bruce Boudreau was just let go after losing in game 7 in the first round - this being the 4th consecutive game 7 loss (on home ice) for this team. We currently have 2 starting goaltenders, Frederik Andersen is a little more experienced but he is an RFA this season, that is looking for a full time starting position and he has very much earned it. We also have John Gibson, who is younger and less experienced but projected to be an elite starter, on a very team friendly deal, so the general consensus is that he will be our starter while Andersen walks. We have one of the best young blue lines in the league, several of whom were drafted and developed by the Ducks, most notably Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm, and Sami Vatanen (the latter of which are RFA this summer, so we don't think both will be able to stay). So long story short, we aren't 100% sure what the team is going to look like next season, but we have a very solid lineup, and most certainly will be contenders for years to come.
