I see no reason why this game could fail. Being a little pessimistic here, but, it might not as large as Terraria, or that it will feature a fully alive and vibrant world like Dwarf Fortress, but if it is better than Minecraft, that is literally all that matters. I don't expect this game to be a masterpiece, nor do I expect it to be trash like early No Man's Sky, rather I expect it to be an average joe to be added to to the list of the greatest voxel games, as of now Minecraft and Terraria.

One things for sure, there modding scene is definitely higher than Garry's Mod, Minecraft and a few of Bethesda games combined. EVEN if vanilla Hytale does feel a bit dull or generic, we still have modding support on our hands to help sharpen the game. In the end, if the game isn't better than Minecraft, then I'll just stick to what I know. These developers are entirely new and 50% don't know much about them.
