Is Thunder Bay as difficult to live in as it seems to me?

People don't want to hear it, but it's so much easier almost anywhere else to meet people. I've been working the door greeting people in town for events and had entire rooms take their papers from me without returning a hello. Like what the fuck. I could cry over how much time I wasted thinking I was the problem.

There's really no respect here for how badly somebody can be ruined by this kind of environment. To me, this is a place that takes from its people spiritually without properly giving back. It's not a community for all, and it never tries to be. That's how we got the runaway successes of "Thunder Bay Dirty" and "Concerned Citizens of Thunder Bay", for which I've struggled to find a proper comparison in other places I've lived. That's why we have drug zombies roaming the streets, and how we all have OD'd friends in the ground. A lot of people born here feel empty, and they don't know how to leave, and they don't try because they keep being told that "it's like this everywhere". The fuck it is.
