The fact is that movie stars are gone. Gone. Will Smith is the last one we had. Movies were guaranteed to make $100M domestic because he was in them. The movie was irrelevant and didn’t even have to be good. He was in it, so it made money.
The only debatable movie star left is Leo (and if you say The Rock, I will laugh in your face). IP is what sells now, not the actor.
The truth is that Will has never made good movies, but his star power overcame that. Star power doesn’t exist anymore, so the bad movies stick out more.
Will is the victim of changing times like every other star, Will just had a larger fall than others.
