There were a few retakes.

Right at the start they had to stop because of a plane (it was like a Cessna rather than jumbo). Whilst they waited they talked to us. James was quite quiet it was mostly Jeremy and Richard.

They had to stop a couple of times because of a phone. The first time they weren’t sure who the phone was. The second time because a woman’s phone went off (an alarm to remind her to collect her children). They stopped for that. JC was chatting then and joking about what would happen to someone the next time a phone goes off. JC imagined a phone going off too.

They had to retake once or twice because they couldn’t remember their lines. JC joked that James had woken up because there was a small delay between JC/RH talking and then JM saying his next line. But James blamed Jeremy for not saying all of his lines so there wasn’t the cue for his.

We, the audience, had to clap and cheer again when they needed to retake the end of a video coming back into the studio.

I imagine quite a lot will be edited out. Although we were finished by 4pm (and in the email it had stated the expected finish time would be 6pm.

We went into the studio between 2pm and 2.30pm. So that tells you how much had to be retaken.

They did speak to the audience a few times during the recording and obviously thanked us at the end too. All three stayed on stage whilst the rest of us watched their pre-recorded videos which we watched in full. Hammond was smoking an e-cig during this time.

The feel of the episode felt like a Grand Tour episode.
