We Tracked Down A Fake-News Creator In The Suburbs. Here's What We Learned

Why was it paid for by some leftist organization? There was no indication of that whatsoever. It's some dude trying to make cash through clicks -- literally spam. The guy may have been registered democrat (there's no way of verifying) but according to him he's tried to create both types, and it so happens that the right-wing clicked on such thing far more, making it an "efficient" tactic for him.

I am familiar with such media tactics, but this doesn't happen to be the case. It's some dude. Much like Donald Trump's tweets, which contain an incredible amount of misinformation and lies, and he probably reaches a much broader audience. I don't think Trump is stupid - he knows precisely what he's doing and what will spur his supporters, and so he creates lies to do so. But do you also think then that the Republican Party should file suit against him?

Additionally, this guy has done nothing to defame democrats in that would hold up in libel or defamation: he didn't write about the Democrats, and he has done no direct damage to them.

However, what he did say in an interview is that his point is supposedly to demonstrate the gullibility of people hooked on conspiracy, which is the right-wing -- in which case the Republicans should be the ones to file suit. I doubt it would hold up in court TBH, but it's much closer to defaming Republicans than it is to defaming Dems.

In the case of defamation, then how do you feel about Trump's twitter? Much of what he tweets is demonstrably false with simple access to google. Should the Republicans file defamation? Because he reaches far more people that way than this guy does.
