How Miami Decided Parking Is More Important Than Housing

Hey! I live there too!

That's one thing I've always wondered too. Like on one hand the `~idea~ was to minimize traffic by encouraging everyone to take transit. Ergo, no more parking spaces here in Capitol Hill by new developments.

If the tax data and my two eyeballs are anything to go by, in effect all that's happened is it's a subsidy for people who can WFH, even before COVID hit. Like myself.

Like I can outbid 10/10 people making the same amount as me because I worked for a big defense contractor and had to travel to the D.C. offices four or five times a year, but otherwise didn't have a car.

But those people I've outbid still want to / need to come into Seattle. So I've always wondered if all this really has reduced car miles? Washington State DOT has some data that seems to say 'no' even if we account for the increase in population
