Unconnected DVD drive and Connected Replacement Slave HDD to clone and booted into Chimp. Now it's doing this and the front LED on the XBOX is flashing green. Do I have to restart the process or can I continue? Really don't feel like having to re hotswap the drive again.

If you were using the latest Chimp 261812 you should no need to hot swap on the main dash. It still should work though.

I installed the Chimp loader on my retail HDD from my Rocky 5's XBOX Softmodding Tool v1.16 disc.

But the recommended method is to launch Chimp and then do the swap at the prompt screen.

I did that and was able to clone the retail drives contents over to the new 80GB IDE HDD that I bought used. That hard disk drive is a 7200RPM Maxtor drive with a 8MB cache and it does support drive locking. I made sure it was a compatible hard disk before purchasing it.

The fact you've actually booted into Chimp and are on that page suggests everything is basically OK but there's some problem with a connection somewhere or anything else that might interfere with the display.

The three caps by the CPU and GPU are bulged and I already get minor video glitches when using the system with component cables on an HDTV. This is not the cheap cables fault as I tested other systems of mine with the same cable and TV and the glitches do not appear. Those caps are probably what's causing the issue.

Check the IDE cable is correctly attached

It was.

If the HDD is SATA is an 80 wire IDE cable being used?

Original 40 pin cable, but I'm using another IDE drive as replacement so there should be no problem there.

Are you using an original Controller S/Duke?

Duke.

Make sure there are no USB devices or memory cards attached either. It is also recommended to use a standard AV Composite cable too.

I did have a memory card attached, but it's completely empty as I don't use it. Didn't realize that I should have probably removed it. I usually run component cables, but they are zip ties up with other cables in my main room where this system is usually used, so I used my composite cables with an old spare 1080i LCD TV that I have laying around.

Side note, the retail drive still works. However, after cloning and successfully locking the new 80GB drive and installing it, the system now FRAG's with the 07 error now. The new drive does indeed work as I've tested it on a Windows XP PC two days ago and unformatted it as it had stuff on it from another computer. I made sure the jumper settings were correct (Cable Select & Master) when installing it into the XBOX and that the IDE cables were all in correctly and in snug but it still FRAG's out. I guess I'm going to have to try and re-clone the drive again? The HDD is compatible so I don't know what the issue is.
