[–]Saysbadman 1 point 2 hours ago So does this work? Anyone tried this? permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]karmat0se 2 points 2 hours ago No idea but I plan to verify when I get home from work. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]TheDanielHolt 1 point 2 hours ago I doubt this works. I mean, how would it work? permalinksavereportgive goldreply
formatting helpreddiquette save [–]karmat0se 1 point an hour ago My guess is it might force the dash to run in an HD resolution (720p/1080i) vs 480p but not necessarily the games. Anyway, I'll post back in an hour if it does actually work. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]franchy36 1 point 49 minutes ago Also, the vast majority of Xbox games are in HD (480P), as long as you have the HD AV pack, there are some that support 720P and a handful that runs at 1080i. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]franchy36 1 point 52 minutes ago It does work, that is how you switch back and forward from 480i to 480P, this was well know and documented back then on the Xbox support page. However, if the game it's 480P, it will still play at 480P, it will not upscale it, 480P is HD.....just saying.... permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]TheDanielHolt 1 point 34 minutes ago I wouldn't call 480p HD, and yes the dashboard is the only thing that changes when using the controller combination. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]franchy36 1 point 24 minutes ago Ok, 480P is EDTV, once you are in a game that combination doesn't work, it's handy to have it because I switch TV's often from SD to HD and I can simply do that without having to go to setting when I am on the HDTV; when you are on the SDTV it automatically goes to 480i. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]TheDanielHolt 1 point 23 minutes ago Yeah, it's a handy combination. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply
On the ps2 the output resolution can be set separately from the game output resolution using homebrew software, usually this breaks the game, but sometimes you can get the game at a much higher resolution which helps to reduce aliasing. I assume this is something similar.
