I still can’t imagine it being strong enough to last beyond lingering in the room it was smoked in.

Granted, I guess there are factors like thin walls and ventilation shafts or something that would make the smell be more noticeable to an outside party, but as far as a whole other apartment goes, there really should be little to no chance the landlord is able to smell it, unless of course he shares a door with OP that opens into his room from time to time.

Pretty sure, at least I hope, it’s the other neighbor clumsily lighting up flower and that smell is what’s getting the landlord’s attention. But it would be scary if even vape smell isn’t safe or that discreet anymore. From the way OP described how he would inhale and get rid of the smell, I truly don’t think he has anything to worry about.
