Sooo essentially someone may have died so that you could get your part because you feel as though you are special. Let's do some basic extrapolation. Millions of cars were affected. Yours was not the first or even the most important. Parts can only be produced 'so fast' and the red tape required in tracking that your airbag was successfully and correctly replaced is strict. No parts were available for over a year because Takata cant produce 15 million airbags overnight. Even if they could, they dont just toss pallets of airbags out in the mail and say "get em while you can!!" Priority vehicles and areas affected (humid climates are at higher risk) were identified and addressed. Customers like you who refuse to use their brains and assume that everyone in the shop is stupid or crooked, and also assume they are more important than everyone else are the worst human beings to deal with, period. I really hope someone who HAD A PART waiting on the shelf somewhere did not get into an accident and get hurt or killed because you needed to 'get angry to get your part'. That's always the solution when you dont get your way or special treatment, get angry right? Signed a mechanic who has replaced a billion Takata inflators.
