Venting/ranting. Slow medication approval process.

Humira was slow to kick in for me (took 3 months or so) but it totally changed my life for the better. I was unmedicated for a year before Humira and I ended up in the ER. I was having 20 loose stools a day that whole year.

I'm outwardly "normal" now. Very little blood or mucus in stool, 1-2 formed bms per day, no abdominal pain unless I get a cold. I love that the Humira pens get shipped to my house so I can inject easily at home. I feel SO much better than I did while unmedicated. I haven't had a flare up in over a year.

Getting a cold while on Humira is really weird. Common colds are so much worse for me now, but luckily they are rare. Otherwise I haven't had any side effects.

The problem is that even though my symptoms are massively improved, my blood work still shows strong inflammation, so my doc will probably want me to switch meds soon. I'm sure I'll be denied Entyvio again and will be put on Remicade.

But maybe whenever the Remicade fails I can finally get on Entyvio...
