I walked back to my computer to edit my last post after making a snack to just say "nevermind... who cares." but you beat me to it.

Let's take a step back. Whats the end goal here? No one, in the history of ever, has ever changed anyones mind about anything - on the internet. I am not going to convince you that this whole ordeal is very weird to a mass percentage of the population. On the flip, you're not going to convince me that a totally normal thing.

I'm one of those 'shitty centrists'. Ill have my gay wedding AT a public execution. I'll drive my wife to an abortion, then to the gun range to celebrate.

Everything I say comes from a place of exhaustion and lack of egg-shell tapdancing. I miss honesty and blunt communication.

I am not a depressed person, but I have zero faith in society. My life, personally, is pretty rad. Great wife. Six-figs (Network Engineer). No kids. Ez. However, I am a pessimistic optimist. The idea that "who cares, were all going to die anyway" doesn't bum me out in the slightest. If anything it brings peace to the chaos of this big ol' nano-second in time.

I have gay associates, trump associates, hard left, hard right. The ONE true common thread that could unite them all, besides hating me (shitty centrist), is their love for picking a corner and staying in it - no matter what. No one can be enlightened or swayed. The sheer confidence from no where is astounding. Its actually pretty funny.

The point of that diatribe, I personally believe that ideology is the new god/religion. It gives people community, purpose and most importantly - a bad guy. Just like religion - you need a foe or adversary, or its kinda boring with no stakes. Imagine if Spiderman had no one to fight. Jesus didnt have Satan. Snore.

You pick a corner and given all the answers. Easy livin'. You dont have to think, critically analyze or be corrected. It seem pretty sweet. Trump is the messiah or men can get pregnant. Gee. Where ever could I obtain such levels of apathy?

So I refer to my original point of: nevermind...who cares.
