I couldn't even reply to this earlier, I was SO fucking mad (at myself)

So I was literally trying to do that, but let's be real, I'm only a step above "It didn't work" commenters half the time.

So I KNEW I could do that, but not quite how. Google leads me to S4PE or whatever it is. I've deleted now.

Spent an hour trying to understand the 1,000,000 errors it threw via similar comments - but not understanding every second word. Realised I'm an idiot for trying.

Redownloaded the mod I'm trying to remove and Dupeguru identifies some of the files as part of the mod (blessed!!) but the rest are sliiightly different file sizes, backed up and then removed - hoping the files had changed in updates.

Then I see your comment, Google advises that S4S is Sims 4 Studio. The shortcut to which is on my desktop. Because I have used it before.
