What do you do about parents that just *won't* come around no matter what?

Yes. I'm partially paralyzed right now and am on track to become fully paralyzed eventually. I'm also in constant pain, and have issues with blood pressure to the extent of fainting, and heat intolerance, and a dozen other things that I could talk for days about but probably shouldn't. The government has me categorized as "totally and permanently disabled" but the maximum amount of money they give for that is 1k a month.... Where in the USA can I live on my own for 1k a month, or even with roommates. I also require a caretaker and those cost money (here my siblings help me with everything so it's not an issue)

Thanks for the advice though. I'll think about meditation.
