The mormons and the cartels have been skirmishing and battling for a good while now. Look up the LeBaron family if you wanna learn some fucked up weird history.

Initially the LeBarons came to Mexico to practice polygamy, after some years of success within their communities one of the church leaders went crazy and started killing a bunch of family members in the name of “Blood Atonement”. Bear in mind this was in the 1980’s not the 1880’s...

In the years since the LeBaron family have found themselves at odds with the local cartels, some people theorize they are involved with the drug/gun trade. Others think it’s just local sicarios/angry ranchers who are upset over the LeBaron’s water rights and land.

While the LeBaron’s have faced kidnappings and murders throughout the years what happened last year was by far the most atrocious. It is suspected La Linea and allegedly the police chief of Janos, Chihuahua organized and executed a massacre against a group of LeBaron’s on their way to a wedding. While it was assumed at first that the LeBaron’s we’re mistaken to be a rival cartel because of their convoy of SUV’s, it was later revealed by a witness that the killers knew they were shooting women and kids. As evidenced by a mother who got out of her car to say “we’re just women and kids” only to catch a point blank bullet.
