My Goober butt is on his last few days, but he still has smiles for mom and car rides.

We had a Hound/German Shepherd mix. She lived a very full life. She was 16 when she passed. She was a a tough girl. She went through cancer twice, and a gash on her side. She killed a woodchuck, and brought it home when she was 13! 13!!! She didn't slow down until midway through 15 years old. One time, she chased after a deer, and got it by the leg. She was 14 when she did that. She was a strong pup. My family always said she was built like a German Shepherd, but she looked like a Hound with Shepherd fur. I always credit her for saving my life. I was wanting to end my life, but she kept scratching at the door to my room. I had to let her in. She came in, and sat right next to my bed. I sat on the floor next to her, and she just leaned on me. I ended up just hugging her, and petting her and crying. She made me feel safe, and loved. She helped me when I was sad, and helped pull me out of some dark places. She was very protective. We never needed a burglar alarm. She was the burglar alarm. She would show her teeth, and stand her ground. Possibly the most loyal dog I ever knew. RIP Gracie. I miss you.
