It seems clear my reply was taken as mean spirited when that was not my intention at all. I was shooting purely for a joke and sarcasm, and obviously I missed the mark.

To be clear, I do NOT wish the dog any harm. Maybe some perceived that. That image was just truly reminiscent of that scene from Jurassic Park in my mind. Am I saying that is going to happen? No, not at all. As someone who has never seen a dog in a wild animals enclosure however, that is the first thing that automatically pops in my mind and I thought it was funny to share that as I expected others to have the same image flashing through their minds. Obviously not.
