What's a company you would never accept an offer from?

It wasn't his wife and kids he was locking up company trade secrets from (entirely).

I don't know if you understand just how common it is for large companies to have highly classified projects pertaining to research and development involving hundreds of thousands to potentially millions of dollars, but quite literally thousands of companies with high profile products have been doing it for decades.

Developing technology isn't cheap by any means, and Apple is protecting its time and most certainly large sums of money invested into research and development. All it takes is one leak to hand over all of that progress to a competitor for free, and then all of the time and resources invested are essentially wasted or lost.

And yes, there are some shady people and companies in the industry who will go to some great measures to steal company secrets for their own profit.

So that's a very rough and general reason why your friends at Apple aren't openly handing over company secrets. Anybody else with more insight is welcome to add on to this.
