When it comes to girl groups, social media narratives often have no correlation to the level of success.

IVE is a great of example of this. If you are just on Twitter, Reddit and TikTok, you might think that IVE is a poorly managed, not very talented group where members are rude to their seniors and fight for the centre spot. There is also a lot of random Wonyoung "controversies" like being a pick-me for eating strawberries with 2 hands. But in reality it's a girl group that won 4 Daesangs and had the biggest song of 2022 in their rookie year with all of members being booked and busy (especially Wonyoung who is bagging endorsements and MC gigs left and right).

amen sista.

Also, it's crazy to see the other members are getting so many opportunities too??!! this was so not the case in post-IOI groups. even if Wonyoung and Yujin have so many more opportunities, the other members having solo activities in itself is something so mind-blowing and something that people really underestimate and underappreciate

Blackpink is also an another good example of how social media narratives are completely different from the real world. You can literally check this subreddit's most popular posts about Blackpink if you don't believe me. "Their songs sounds the same, everyone will get bored of it", "Since their last comeback <insert group> released 2 albums", "They are more focused on modelling than music" etc. And in reality they have been the biggest girl group in the world for at least 3 years. They are currently selling out arenas/stadiums all over the world and will headline huge festivals like Hyde Park (and possibly Coachella).

forrealll. people acting like they're dying when they're in the middle of a very successful tour where they are performing at stadiums across Asia, large venues in the US and over multiple nights in Europe?! wowiee. girlies are flying in private while 13 year olds are fuming wrting tiktok comments
