The arc was fine until the Osaragi chapters. The conflict was inevitable as it was building since the Christmas arc at least. However, the use of the Ootomo incident as a main driver for Osaragi’s discontent was contrived. There were enough issues already in their friendship to not need to dig up that old incident yet again. In my opinion, highlighting Miko’s issues while showcasing the twisted nature of Osaragi’s mindset is a strange way to delve into the drama. It’s like yes, Miko has issues but Osaragi’s drama is on a whole other level. And having only Shirogane question how absurd her logic is, while everyone else tries to understand her and overlooks the fact that she’s just really weird. Lastly, the amount of fans who buy into her mentality was unsurprising but unpleasant nonetheless.
