The Bucs knew Walker wouldn't take that offer, but the Bucs look good by making it and to homering fans who feel it's best for the team to protect Nutting's Wallet, Walker looks like the bad guy for not working on the cheap. NH never negotiated after Walker turned that deal down. Instead, NH's feelings got in the way and he made the worst trade of his already lousy career as a GM.

Except I didn't say anything about Cutch signing before. I said it's going to be interesting to see how homering fans react when Cutch doesn't take the hometown discount again. I expect the Bucs to make an offer they know he won't accept, same as they did with Walker.
