Ok I will come to some defence:

My dad is an asshat...and I'm gonna vent..

His "conservative" views were skewed...my S.O. who grew up more religion wasn't sheltered like I was.

He was on the extreme side of things, and even wouldn't buy me normal LEGO sets in fear they were not "girly" enough. Jokes on him...I buy Lego for myself now, and I work in a male dominated industry.

I couldn't watch LOTR, but Star Wars he liked so it was ok...?

I couldn't listen to Rap or Pop that was not "christian bands"...but 90s grunge/00s Alt was okay because he liked it? (Third Eye Blind was one of my first concerts...and they sing 95% of the time about drugs/dying).

Conservative doesn't equal christian, and Christian doesn't equal conservative.

I know some of conservatives that are not christian. They are just are old as dirt or work in a condition where its beneficial for them to vote conservative.

And I know a TON of christians/catholics who are not conservative. I know more Christians that are democratic than not. It's the "love thy neighbor " idealism that fuels that.

Please don't confuse my asshat of a dad/conservative crazies with real christians who know the difference between fantasy and practicing witchcraft.
