When did mental illness become a competition on social media?

Yeah, this, you will not find people with mental illnesses boasting about it on the internet, you won't find actual depressed and anxious people making videos crying on the internet for clout. You know where you will find those people? In bad places in life, in abusive relationships, battling addictions, you won't find those people crying only because they lost their "soulmate" and "only true love" they only knew for two weeks, you'll find those people crying for hours and never actually knowing what they're crying about because so much shit has pilled up that trying to make sense of it just makes it worst.

The romanticization of mental illnesses on social media is something that absolutely disgusts me, people who do that shit should be ashamed of themselves.
