Wounded 3rd G string?

It's all about hand strength and technique when bending heavy strings.

You'll probably need to use two fingers to bend the wound G. Plant your middle finger just behind your ring finger and push with both to get the bend.

Doubtful you will get a step and a half to start. You'll be lucky to get a whole step until you build up some serious left hand strength.

Wrist position is also critical. Your wrist should be in the same position you would use to do a full on Barre chord, dropped down almost below the bottom of the neck.

Finally, down tuning to E flat like Stevie & Jimi did is essential if you're going to be bending those heavy assed strings.

Unless you wish to develop carpal tunnel syndrome very rapidly do not even attempt to bend a 24ga. wound G at standard pitch.

Curious, why are you doing this?
