Long term? No. Reading through the announcements of their partners etc. specifically the AMA with IBM it gives a strong vibe that the use of XLM is temporary. Imagine where XRP is right now, most banks just using the tech, not the token. But Stellar is going backwards, while XRP is looking to introduce the token to banks, Stellar is likely to move away from it.

I hold Stellar because I think short-mid term it will perform well (Have had it since 3 cents) but, it's not a threat to XRP, its current boom is because of a rumour that it will have a partnership with Visa announced at a conference happening in the next few days because Stellar is on a panel with Visa.
