Someone flicks a light on and the mosquitoes follow. All I see is attacks on Ripple coming from every quarter.

If you rebrand something you create confusion, at least for a while. Now that Ripple and XRP have such a strong image, having been on tv a few times and on so many online news reports, it would be stupid to change to a brand new symbol that no one knows of. Now that the average joe started recognising Ripple/XRP symbol you go and change it??

If Ripple had already confirmation that XRP would be widely used and therefore needs its own symbol, fine. The community changing the symbol at this point in time when so much has finally been made and so many challenges still lie ahead, is plain stupid.

I work in advertising. Symbols matter, and it takes time for people to build an emotional relationship with a symbol/brand. Now that Ripple has established one you can’t just wash that away and start from scratch.

I see this as another attack on Ripple. A very clever one. Someone started the bloody idea and the herd just followed.
