I'm no stranger to to manual lenses. Vintage zeiss glass to loxia lenses. I know it's at best 1/10 chance of getting a decent shot of a moving dog with a manual focus lens.
Center continuous is also pretty garbage with shallow depth of field.
Have you tried capture one? It's a must for Sony and Fuji raw files and better in general than lightroom. Assuming you're shooting raw but wouldn't be surprised if it's jpg.
