I don't think you're as informed as you think you are... there are literal statues honoring confederate generals all over the US and there was a lot of resistance over removing them because a bunch of racists considered it an attack on their (slavery based) culture- those same ppl get upset when you call them racists for proudly wearkng the confederate flag! When you look at Germany they have memorials to the victims of the holocaust not statues of nazis. That is two different ways shitty parts of a country's history have been addressed. System racism in the US has deprived a lot of descendants of slavery from economic opportunities and it's why so many black communities are struggling. You have so much history and current events to catch up on and advance your learning
